Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the NYC Bus Time App (the "App") published by Transitway ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. The service
The App provides real-time New York City MTA bus arrival information, nearby stops, route maps, and related features. Arrival data is sourced from the MTA's public Bus Time feed. We are an independent developer and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the MTA.
2. No guarantee of accuracy
Bus arrival times, locations, and service information are estimates provided by third-party data feeds and depend on factors outside our control, including GPS accuracy, traffic, and the availability of the underlying data. We do not guarantee that any information in the App is accurate, complete, or timely. Do not rely on the App for time-critical, safety-critical, or emergency decisions. Always allow extra time and confirm service through official MTA channels when it matters.
3. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where permitted by law
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue load on the App or its data sources
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Scrape, resell, or redistribute data from the App without permission
5. Advertising
The App is free and supported by advertising provided through third-party partners. Your use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how advertising data is handled. Ads are served by third parties, and we are not responsible for the content of any advertisement or any third-party site or product it links to.
6. Intellectual property
The App, including its design, code, branding, and the Transitway name and logo, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding. "MTA" and related marks belong to their respective owners.
7. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services, including the MTA data feed and advertising providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Transitway will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from missed buses, delays, reliance on arrival information, or your use of or inability to use the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the App, which for a free app is zero.
10. Termination
We may suspend or discontinue the App, or any feature, at any time. You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply.
